Outreach
Represent MCBC at your favorite events, like Bike To Work Day, The Fairfax Festival, the Marin Century and Biketoberfest! Outreach is the most important way to get others interested in the programs and projects that make Marin a great place to bike. It’s also a great way to meet new people who share your passion for cycling!

Office Tasks
Behind the scenes, MCBC volunteers keep the office operating smoothly by helping with mailings, data entry, compiling new-member packets, filing, archiving newspaper articles, graphic design for special event pieces, writing articles, and office cleanup. Let us know if you have a few weekday hours to spare to help us in this very important way.
Bike Parking
MCBC provides free valet bike parking throughout Marin County at key community events, offering cyclists the opportunity to have fun at events while avoiding the traffic congestion and parking hassles. This very-social all-volunteer service includes bike parking, promoting MCBC, and recruiting new members.
Distribution
Please help MCBC get the word out about our events and quarterly news. Enjoy traveling around the county as you distribute brochures, newsletters, and posters for us to a pre-determined list of local bike shops, libraries, community centers, and 
businesses. Distribution can even be done on your bike!
Phone Calls
Got great phone skills? Help call MCBC members to attend local meetings, collect feedback on how MCBC is doing, invite lapsed members to renew, discuss ballot issues, special events, etc. We provide the script; all you need to do is speak clearly and cheerfully!

Sausalito Art Festival
Friday-Monday, Sept. 4-6
MCBC hosts the Valet Bicycle Parking corral at the Sausalito Art Festival. Enjoy the view from the MCBC tent – mingle with cyclists as you park their bikes and chat with them about the importance of MCBC’s work. Free admission to the festival for volunteers.
Volunteer shifts available:
- Friday, Sept. 3: – set up bike parking corral in late afternoon or evening; 2 people needed
- Saturday, Sept. 4: bike parking
1:30-6 PM – need 1 person - Sunday, Sept. 5: bike parking
1:30-6 PM – need 1 person - Monday, Sept. 6: bike parking
1:30-5 PM – need 3 people

Marin Classic
Sunday, Oct. 10
Volunteers are needed on Sunday, Oct. 10, at the Marin Classic in Sausalito or Mill Valley: 1 person for registration from 7-8:30 AM.
Biketoberfest
Saturday, Oct. 16
Enjoy the celebration of bikes, beer, and food on October 16 at Biketoberfest, located at the Fair-Anselm Plaza on Center Blvd. in Fairfax. Numerous opportunities to support MCBC await you. Sign up early for the shift of your choice.
Free beer tasting will be provided to all volunteers over 21. MCBC t-shirts also provided for the volunteers; please indicate your size.

Pre-event opportunities:
- Signage preparation, poster distribution, food/supplies pickups
Day-of shifts:
- Set up: 7-11 AM
- Vendor Check-in: 8-11 AM
- Volunteer-at-Large: 10 AM to 1 PM; 2-5 PM
- Vendor Parking Assistants: 8-11 AM; 11 AM to 3 PM; 3-7 PM
- Group ride registrations: 9-11 AM; 11 AM to 1 PM
- Sausage plate cooks and servers:
11 AM to 2 PM – need 3 people
2 to 5 PM – need 3 people - Ticket Sales for Beer/Wine/Sausage Plate:
11 AM to 2 PM – need 6 people
2:00 to 5:00 PM – need 6 people - Raffle Booth:
11 AM to 2 PM – need 3 people
2:00 to 5:00 PM – need 3 people - Valet Bicycle Parking: 2:30-6:30 PM – need 2 people
- MCBC table:
10:30 AM to 2:30 PM – need 3 people
2:30-6:30 PM – need 3 people - Parking lot monitors: help keep certain parking areas available for use by local businesses and their patrons.
9:00 AM to noon – need 2 people
12:00-3:00 PM – need 2 people
3:00-6:00 PM – need 2 people - Smoothie Machine Overseer:
10 AM to 2 PM – need 1 person
